The rugged burls of the exterior wood reflects the hard times and persecution that Gitanos (Flamenco Gypsies) endured in Southern Spain, which is reflected in the Flamenco piece of the same name.  The picture of the new owner of this guitar stand is Angie Marquis who is a professional Country and Western singer and guitarist.

Quiberon Guitar Stand carved by Guy Breay

This sentimental guitar is elegantly mounted on a carved Budgero root burl stand.
The curvaceous shape and natural hollows in the root shown at right, inspired Guy to carve the piece with a stylised hollow female form.

The root burl at the base has been shaped to follow the curved sound box of the guitar.
