This carving, which can be either free standing or wall mounted, is a gift to Dr Michael
Bryant in appreciation of his kindness and skill as a neurosurgeon.
In August 2012, Guy underwent cervical spine fusion
surgery to decompress the pinching of nerves that were causing immense
pain radiating from his neck. For more information on this
procedure, please click the link to Briz Brain & Spine
This curved Budgeroo branch with numerous
gnarled burls was selected to represent the arthritis and general wear
and tear of the spine. The rugged exterior
contrasts with the carved and finely sanded mahogany heart wood
representing the polished surface of the new fused cervical
vertebrae.
