The name is Papuan for a girl from Lake Kutubu.

Kutubu Kekeni was a gift to Neil Peace in appreciation for his companionship on hiking the Kokoda Trail in 1985 and trecking to Lake Kutubu in 1987.

The sun bleached natural edge with all its knotts, nooks and crannies are a main feature in this piece.

This carving can also be used as a side table.
